Why we need to address climate change: The best explanation yet.
Submitted by Steering.Jim on Mon, 12/28/2009 - 03:54The best explanation of why we need to address climate change
Solid risk assessment that by-passes belief. Pass it on.

You cannot solve a problem with the thinking that created it. When enough people change their minds, the world will change.
Please pass it on to your address books! Thanks!

Republican Hypocrisy still alive and well - Funding abortions since 1991.
Submitted by Steering.Jim on Sat, 11/14/2009 - 14:23In yet the latest example of Republican Party hypocrisy we learn that the Republican National Committee has been providing funding for abortions to their members since 1991. The links are posted below. Of course we shouldn't be surprised. After all this is the party who provides us with leaders that scream from their soap boxes and pedestals about family values then has extra marital affairs around the globe, toe taps in Minnesota bathrooms, and gets divorced and remarried as often as the next non-Republican.
Our progressive expert linguist George Lakoff said in best some time around 2003, "They say they are for family values; they are NOT!. If they were for family values they would be in favor of healthcare for children and prenatal care for pregnant women; They are NOT."
Read about the abortion funding Republican Party here:

Thank you Gary Peters, John Conyers, Sandy Levin and all the wonderful reps who voted for a strong public option!
Submitted by Steering.Jim on Sat, 11/14/2009 - 14:13We are so honored that John Conyers cast the first vote for Healthcare that is high quality, affordable, and will have a public option. We are so proud of Gary Peters who stood strong and voted the right way on this issue. Despite all the teabagger, threats to rewinning his election and calls from the republican "Party of No", Gary Peters stood with us as Americans desperate for health finance reform! We couldn't be prouder because he did the right thing in the heat of the pressure! Of course we can't say thank you enough for John Dingell for he persistence and perseverance over these last many decades. Representative DIngell has kept this issue alive by introducing the bill for reform even when the times were tough. We think it was fitting that he cast the last vote to move this legislation forward! The people and the nation have finally caught up to the wisdom of John Dingell!
Thank them all for everything they have done this year to advance the cause for all of us! Now lets make sure that our Senators also do the right thing!

It's time to hold Democrats accountable for moving our agenda forward. Most of those who are opposing a public option have taken large amounts of money from the Insurance and Health Industry. DFA recently sent out an email asking you to vote on who's district should get the ad.
They included senators from MT, MA, CA, IN, LA, NE, CT, and more. If you didn't get the email you should sign up at www.democracyforamerica.com!
