People are disappearing in America, detained without rights and NO ONE CARES! Private Security Prisons Reap Tax Payer Rewards!Submitted by Steering.Jim on Tue, 07/19/2011 - 23:59
If you think Illegal Immigration is a problem that Republicans want to solve humanely. Please consider otherwise. Arresting and Detaining Illegal Immigrants is big business. "Those People" like prisoners everywhere have to be fed, clothed, etc. No one's doing that for free. You, my fellow Americans are paying the cost. So maybe this is a great way to reduce the debt! Stop the abuses of human rights and then paying the friends and donors of Republicans for the prison services.
Must see video - Watch the Murdocks sweat & try to convince the world they care about ethics within their organizations!Submitted by Steering.Jim on Tue, 07/19/2011 - 23:35
This is must watch video for every world citizen. It is mandatory viewing for those that want to believe that FoxNews really is news and it's gratifying justice for those of us who have known all along that Rupert Murdock's organizations are unethical and do not care about ethical standards, privacy, nor breaking the law. If you want the cliff notes of this very long video, I can sum it up in one sentence: We leave it up to the authorities.
Key messages: Law breaking of many kinds including illegal voicemail interception, bribery of authorities, and firing of detectives that use illegal computer hacking are within the means of a Murdock News Organization. HOWEVER, we don't fire anyone about ethics because they leave the company before we find anything out. We don't tell the board because it's not necessary for them to know about culpability of the organization and individuals in it. And lastly, Rupert Murdock gets multiple receptions through the back door of Number 10 Downing Street while heads of state use the front door.
*Disclaimer: Totally disgusting video consider something from Big Pharma to qwell your upset stomach afterwards.
Truthout has reported on ways that Corporations like those of the Koch brothers are influencing the laws of your state and in turn legislators are reaping the benefits.
As if the Citizens United, clearly biased ruling by the Corporate Beholden Supreme Court of America, wasn't bad enough.
It's time to wake up my fellow citizens. Your apathy will not protect you!
The New War of Independence - Against Corporate Politics
Monday 4 July 2011
by: Richard (RJ) Eskow, Campaign for America's Future |
This is the age of corporatized politics. That means we may admire our
leaders, but we can't depend on them. We're paying the price for
Thomas Jefferson's unfulfilled desire to "crush in its birth the
aristocracy of our monied corporations which dare already to challenge
our government to a trial by strength, and bid defiance to the laws of
This July 4th, politics is too important to be left to the
politicians. The stakes are too high and the system is too broken.
Citizen action is everyone's job now, and it will be as long as our
political debate focuses on misplaced austerity and ignores the
majority's yearning for jobs, growth, and those things that government
But the problem isn't just with politicians, or even the system. The
problem is dependence itself.
We call it "Independence Day." But the British didn't leave on July 4,
1776. The war lasted until September 3, 1783, when the Treaty of Paris
was signed. July 4th is the day we declared ourselves independent.
Victory came with the recognition that freedom is our natural
condition. Our country wasn't born with violence, but with the
realization that freedom is discovered and claimed, not granted by

The Republicans are at it again! Trying to take the moral highground on tax dollar spending. All this despite the fact that balancing the budget has never happened under their last four Republican Presidents.
Each one of us has a responsibility for awareness about how our American Companies and those non-American companies that we buy products from are treating their workers. Tracking Gov Rick Snyder - Each One of Us has a Responsibility to Protect Michigan from this dictatorshipSubmitted by Steering.Jim on Sun, 05/15/2011 - 20:30
While Snyder has gotten his huge tax cut for businesses through the legislature on the backs of schools and retirees, there are still 25 or more horrible bills pendiing before the legislature. One series of bills now sitting in the House Education Committee would essentially make Michigan Schools "right to work".
Teachers would lose tenure. Firing could occur without cause.
Seniority could not be used in layoffs.
Merit pay would become the norm
Teachers unions would be forbidden to bargain evaluation and merit pay.
Laid off teachers would not be recalled if a building principal doesn't accept them.
Each of us has responsibility to raise awareness of this by writing letters to the editor of your favorite paper and fight directly by calling your legislators and letting them know that you're watching the Republican callus disregard for the people of Michigan!
If you did not vote in the 2010 election or worse yet you voted for Rick Snyder or one of the Republican Legislators in Michigan, you have a double or triple responsibility to take action and help undo the damage you've unleashed onto the people of this state!
Get involved today! Write! Fight! Get organized!

We are the people of Michigan, and we believe it’s time for our elected officials to come together to stop the partisan power struggles, focus on improving our economy, and create quality jobs for working and middle class families.
We believe Gov. Rick Snyder’s agenda unfairly exploits Michigan’s economic crisis to attack seniors with new taxes on pensions, students by cutting almost $800 million from K-12 and higher education, and workers through efforts to end the right to collective bargaining.
We believe politicians should require CEOs to share in the sacrifice to move our state forward instead of giving them a $1.8 billion tax cut at the expense of seniors, children, and families.
We are the people of Michigan, and we believe it’s time for our elected officials to start standing up for working and middle class families.
